Outdoor shooting places

Hi All,

Sorry to write in English, I hope it's not against the rules...

I am going to shoot a rock band in Helsinki and we are looking for some industrial area, wrecks or something similar. Do you have any recommendations? say max. 1-2 hours of drive .

Other thing is, can I just do outdoor shooting anywhere or I need get a permission from the city?

Hi Serkan,
it would be easier to advice you, if you'd give some more precise information about your plans.

Permission for outdoor shooting depends where you are taking the pictures. In general it's ok to take photos outside the buildings, but of course most of the industrial areas are fenced and you need a permission for entrance.

Maybe you could start from the Hanasaari coal plant, in Sörnäinen. It's in the heart of Helsinki, and there are couple of OK spots to take pictures.

...I misunderstood this. You don't need any permission for a small photoshoot. But: if there is a possibility that your shooting might be disturbing (lots of people, lots of props etc.) it is wise to ask for a licence. You need the permission from the owner of the area you are taking the pictures.
